Flawless Interior, Anyone?

The smell, the shine, the flawless interior?

Well, now it's time to bring that feeling back to your own car. Whether you're preparing for a road trip, trying to impress a date, or just want to breathe new life into your ride, this guide will show you how to do a quick DIY detail on your vehicle's interior.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before you start, make sure you have all the necessary supplies: a vacuum, a few microfiber cloths, a soft bristled brush, a bucket of warm water, a car-specific soap or all-purpose cleaner, a stain remover, ammonia-free glass cleaner, and a protectant for the leather and vinyl surfaces. Trust us, you don't want to run out of supplies in the middle of the process!

Step 2: Vacuum the Interior

Start by removing all loose items from the car, including the floor mats. Then, vacuum every nook and cranny, paying extra attention to the seats, floor, and trunk. If you have a crevice tool, use it to clean hard-to-reach areas. And don't forget the ashtray! You never know what kind of surprises you might find (we've seen it all).

Step 3: Tackle Stains

Stains can be stubborn, but don't worry, we've got you covered. To remove stains from the seats, spray a small amount of stain remover directly on the affected area and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, using a microfiber cloth, gently scrub the stain until it's gone. For stains on the carpets, you can use a carpet cleaner. Simply follow the instructions on the bottle and be sure to use a cloth to blot the stain, rather than rubbing it. Keep in mind that difficult stains may require steam cleaning to remove (that is outside the scope of this quick DIY guide, but we offer steam cleaning services if you just can't get them out).

Step 4: Wash the Interior

Next, it's time to wash the interior surfaces. Mix a small amount of car soap or all-purpose cleaner with warm water in a bucket. Dip a microfiber cloth into the solution, wring it out, and start cleaning the dashboard, doors, and center console. Be sure to get into all the cracks and crevices, as dirt and grime can build up in these areas over time. Use the soft bristled brush to get into the most difficult to reach areas. And don't forget to clean the steering wheel and shifter, too!

Step 5: Protect the Leather and Vinyl

Now that the interior is clean, it's time to protect it. Spray a protectant on a microfiber cloth and apply it to the leather seats and any vinyl surfaces. You might choose to use leather conditioner on older, cracking, or hardened leather finishes. This will help to keep them looking like new and prevent them from cracking or fading over time.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

Finally, replace all the floor mats and put everything back in its proper place. Give the windows a quick wipe down with the ammonia-free glass cleaner and, voila, your car's interior is looking brand new again (hopefully).

Step 7: Enjoy the results

Auto detailing is a fun and satisfying process that can breathe new life into your car. If you're just starting out with interior car care, this quick DIY guide will help you get the job done quickly and efficiently. So, grab your supplies, roll up your sleeves, and get ready to enjoy that "new car" feeling once again. Happy detailing!
